After years of coming agonisingly close, Perth Road stylist Radek Lewandowski has won the Editorial Visionary Award UK at Wella Professionals’ TrendVision Award, with a Dundee client as his model.
Dundee salon McIntyres is celebrating one of the biggest wins in its history after stylist Radek Lewandowski was named UK winner of the Editorial Visionary Award at the Wella Professionals TrendVision Award 2026.
The UK and Ireland final was held on 14 September at Town Hall by Bottaccio in London, in front of more than 450 hair professionals. Estetica reported Radek finishing ahead of runner-up Natassia Dean of TONI&GUY Derby, with Samantha Byrne of Vanilla Hair Design taking the Irish title. According to the salon, McIntyres was the only Scottish salon to win a title on the night.
Third time lucky, and then some
TrendVision is one of the most prestigious competitions in professional hairdressing, and Radek knows it better than most. He first made the UK final in 2020, when he took silver in the Colour Specialist category. In 2022 he was UK runner-up in Colour Specialist, and last year he was runner-up in the Editorial Award UK.
“He has been runner-up for the past three years,” said McIntyres owner Kay McIntyre, who called the win “a real testament to his creativity and talent”.
Radek said he was “absolutely over the moon” and thanked Kay and the whole team for their support.
One colour, one Dundee model
This year’s brief centred on monochrome: the whole look had to be built from a single colour family, with tone and texture doing the work that contrast normally would. Radek worked in red, moving from a deep, saturated base to brighter scarlet and copper, with a heavy full fringe and long soft waves.
His model was Ola, one of the salon’s own clients from Dundee, rather than an agency model. Finalists in the new-look final had to recreate their looks live on stage.
A long TrendVision tradition
McIntyres has been sending stylists to TrendVision finals since 2010, and the salon had a second finalist this year in Keira Milne, named among the 2026 finalists by Salon Business. Owner Kay McIntyre is a three-time Scottish Hairdresser of the Year and a member of the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame, and the Union Street salon celebrated 25 years in Dundee last year.
