Dundee is set to welcome back one of its most popular community events this summer as the Tayside Branch of the Parachute Regimental Association (PRA) hosts Airborne Forces Day Scotland 2026.
Following the outstanding success of the 2024 event, the Tayside PRA is thrilled to have been asked to stage the celebration once again. The main family day will take place on Saturday 18 July 2026 at Riverside, Dundee, running from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.The free-admission event promises a packed day of entertainment, military heritage and family fun, headlined by a spectacular Freefall Parachute Display. Visitors can also enjoy:
- Meet the Paras Pipeband
- 4 Para colours and PRA standards on parade
- Meet “Pegasus”, the regiment’s mascot
- The Scottish Military Vehicle Group and WW2 Display
- Parachute static displays and para-capabilities demonstrations
- Kids Fun Fair, Ice Cream Van and Kids Stalls
- Farmers market, hot food and beer tent
- Free parking and free entry for all
A full weekend of Airborne celebrations
The Saturday event at Riverside forms the centrepiece of a special three-day programme organised by the Tayside PRA:
- Friday 17 July – A social gathering and welcome reception at the Tayside PRA and Veterans Club (St David’s, 86 Nethergate, Dundee DD1 4EL) from midday onwards. The venue features a large bar, memorabilia rooms and will host food and entertainment into the evening.
- Saturday 18 July – Airborne Forces Day at Riverside with the freefall display and family attractions (as detailed on the official poster).
- Sunday 19 July – A formal Evening Dinner (the Official Parachute Regiment Association Dinner Dance) at the Apex City Quay Hotel, Dundee, from 7:00 pm.
Restorative works are currently ongoing at St David’s in the Nethergate, home to the Tayside PRA and Veterans Hub. The facility remains open to all and serves as a welcoming space for veterans, their families and the wider community.
